Coby White number-one scorer of the Chicago Bulls until coming back Zach LaVine.

Is there any doubt that Coby White may keep being the number-one scorer of the Chicago Bulls until coming back Zach LaVine? Here's why:

Arguments for White maintaining his lead:

Increased confidence and momentum: Despite being limited due to an injury to LaVine, white has been exceptional with an average of 24.2 points per game by increasing his shot selection and decision-making skills. Given this new-found confidence, and depending on what happens to LaVine, they can still succeed in the long run.

Offensive fit: White is great when he has the ball, he does not wait for others’ assistance but creates his shot while trying to dunk on other players. This will make an ideal partner for LaVine who scores best in off-ball movement and catch-and-shoot situations.

Bulls' offensive system: Coach Donovan’s system, which features spacing and ball movement, presents chances that would work well for White and LaVine. Their diverse sets of skills would be an asset in making them a stronger offensive tandem.

Arguments for LaVine reclaiming the scoring lead:

Proven track record: LaVine has scored at least an average of twenty-five points over the last three years. White is not as complete an attacking player as he has an elite shooting range and high-flying ability.

Natural scoring instinct: Scoring runs in his veins, and he keeps searching for openings to score. His aggressive offense might spread infections around and lift the whole team’s spirits.

Ball dominance: Historically, LaVime likes a lot of shots. His return with White might lead to his shots’ reduction, hence affecting his goal score.

Ultimately, it will depend on several factors:

LaVine's health and conditioning: In case he comes back in full health and recovers his previous style of play, the chances are that he will retake the goal leader position. Notwithstanding, any remaining problems may hamper him.

Coach Donovan's rotations: The distribution of playing time and offensive opportunities by Coach Donovan has had a lot of repercussions on both players’ scoring figures.

Team chemistry and success: However, if White and Lavine contribute offensively for the Bulls to be successful, then Coach Donovan may well go for a more balanced team that allows both to shine without a clear scoring leader.

Prediction:

However, if I could choose, I would prefer White for he has the potential to shoulder an important offensive burden. Both players probably have an average of above 20 points/game so the Bulls will be a more dangerous team offensively. It could be tough to predict a “clear leading scorer”, but the Bulls’ potential as an offensive team is interesting.
